Hey everyone!

This was meant to be a very long and very happy post with pics and links but instead I think it will be a very short one. I promise I will do a longer one later :)

Good news: I HAVE INTERNET AGAIN. Proper internet with 5 bars of signal and everything. It makes my life so much easier, especially doing my archive course.

Bad news: My sausage dog, Holly, is really ill and won't live much longer so that's taking up all my time and attention lately. Thank you to everyone who's messaged me via twitter. I know dogs aren't people, but that doesn't mean you only love them half-heartedly (as I'm sure everyone with pets knows anyway). The whole family adores Holly (we got her in 1998 so she an old lady now!) and this whole week has been really bloody awful. I think I'm going to get a plant next time, it might not feel this horrible.

I'm going to try and catch up with some comment replies now, I am far behind (as ever) and have probably missed lots of interesting discussions. I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

Telling funny stories about pets is one of the joys of having them, and one of the best ways to cope with their loss. We're still missing my mother-in-law's poodle, who died before Christmas.

My great aunt had a poodle! A miniature one, very yappy but such a cute little fuzzball too. As for Holly, I think everytime I eat some cheese I will think of her <3

Thank you <3 They are such little characters aren't they :) I remember getting a book on sausage dogs before we got Holly and it said they were 'known to be stubborn'. I thought AHAHAHAHA OF COURSE NOT, and, yeah, I WAS WRONG.

I'm really sorry that Holly is so unwell. From what you've said about how you're caring for her, I'm sure no dog could have asked for a more loving home. The one time I lost a pet, I cried the hardest I've ever cried, EVER. They really do become part of the family. *hugs*

Oh, bb, I'm so sorry about Holly! That's just so awful ::HUGS:: I'll always think it is perfectly okay to get upset over losing a pet. It's always made me furious when someone tried to demean my pain over losing a pet, because you're right. They might not be people but does that really mean you love them any less? They're still family. And that hurts to lose. Oh, darling, I'm so so sorry. ::cuddles::

So sorry about your dog not being well. When the dog I had as a kid, Mandy, disappeared never to be seen again I was so heartbroken. Really, really down. Never had the courage to get another pet.

Been following you on Twitter (lurking really since I don't twitter m'self) and am very sorry about Holly :( Our own puppydawg (an 11 yr old sheltie) is like a younger member of the family--srsly she takes turns cuddling with the boys, they argue which one she'll sleep with at night even though the winner has to walk her around 2 am, and they fuss over her and treat her like a younger sibling. Also, glad you've got internets back!! Yay, INTERNET!!!
