This is very funny :D

Daniel Abraham's private letter from Genre to Mainstream

The letter itself is great, but just as good are the 'replies' in the comments from Mainstream, Horror, Fanfic (Dear Genre, I'm disappointed in you. Yes, YOU! Why do you keep trying to go back to Literature when I love you as no one else ever will?) and Rarefied amongst others.

And if that's not amusement enough - find out which Regency hero you should marry. I'm marrying the knight apparently, although I'd rather have a wizard I think ;)

And lastly lastly, for those not following my history comm, you might want to check out this hilarity,

Bringing lols to the world of manuscripts since about 1500.

I got a knight as well!

What were the other options?

Can I join the history comm please, it won't let me without asking. :-)

I have hopefully made you a member now!

I think I must have left that closed because I wanted to keep control over what was being posted on there, rather than anyone could post anything. In case you can't tell, I haven't run a community before :D Find-a-merlin was set up by someone else and I mostly just reply to people and/or tag things.

I am, thank you!

Yes, you can set it so that anyone can join but only certain people can post.

Thank you for having me!

Also the only other option I know of so far is the Brooding Duke

"The Brooding Duke, which reads in part, " chances are good he'll win you in a card game, take your virginity later that night then put you to work as his valet."

is it weird that I started reading that letter to Mainstream fiction and almost instantly anthropomorphized it as a letter from Eames to Arthur ? /facepalm

Actually I am not even all that familiar with the Arthur and Eames characters and that immediately makes perfect sense to me :D

Ooh I got the Genius Gentleman. Here's what it says:

The Genius Gentleman spends a great deal of time inventing clever things in his private laboratory in the Cotswalds. He often forgets to eat. On the run from your murderous uncle, your perfect handwriting leads to employment as his amanuensis. You quickly make a friend of the book, straighten out the household accounts and bring him a cup of chocolate at midnight. This leads to stolen kisses and the discovery that his daily walks have resulted in a great many muscles. And, well, he's a VERY clever inventor.
