I thought it was worth a try so... does anyone recognise this dress?? I thought it was one of Gwen's costumes to start with, but then it doesn't match any I can find online so maybe it's from something else? For some reason I recognised it immediately and now it is driving me crazy!

Noooo! Sally, why? This is going to drive me crazy. I swear I've seen Gwen wearing something at least similar in a banner for a community or in an icon or something.

a8c-sock had the same reaction as you. I know Gwen has a similar dress but I still keep looking at the pic and thinking no, she had THIS dress. Or someone somewhere did. One day it will just pop up in a tv programme JUST YOU WAIT.

*g* It does look a bit like one of Gwen's first 'moving up in the world' dresses (that shade of lavender and the gold thread embroidery), but I'd say the neck-line is too high for it to be one.
It looks Georgian.

It's definitely Georgian, it's being worn in an episode of Garrow's Law (18th century). Not that that matters to it being a Gwen dress of course, since lord knows how many different historical periods they source THOSE from. I've seen her other lilac dresses and even the one that looks similar didn't make me go "oooh I must have been thinking of that one". Ack! It will continue to bug me until one day I am watching tv/a film and THERE IT IS.

The dress definitely does have a similarity to one of Gwen's dresses. Although Gwen's is definitely lower cut and shows more cleavage. No dress that matches exactly the one you've posted. There is a S2 promo pic of her in the lavender dress with a white corset with flowers on it.
