I've been so taken with the bottom of the poster, I didn't notice The Great Magoo (or whatever he's called) up there in the clouds. I am not sure how to feel about him being featured on the poster for S4.

Me neither. I think blondielox is right and Dragoon is going to stand in for magical Merlin this series, so he'll help out Arthur 'publicly' and no-one will EVER KNOW. ARGH.

It's a terrible photo of her, or maybe just a terrible photo of the poster? I can't tell yet. I'm holding out hope that it's just the photo of the poster! She looks slightly zombiefied, and Arthur looks scrunched up and confused.

You know, the more I rewatch the show, the more it seems like Gwen has to know Merlin has magic. I mean, why didn't she figure it out in ep 4 from S1 for god's sake? Maybe the reveal will come through Gwen. Why couldn't they go that path? Hell, I'd be happy for Arthur to quit being knocked out and be able to connect some dots too. Anything is better than what they seem to be angling towards.

I think that would be extremely unpopular with fandom. Well, a lot of the M/A fandom anyway, it's sort of been the big worry from series 2 onwards, that Gwen would find out first and be the one who gets Arthur to accept it. I truly believe the reveal should be about Merlin and Arthur and no-one else. I don't trust these writers not to make it another way of furthering A/G and not about the boys at all :(

Well, maybe they will shock us all. I was just rewatching 3.02 the other day and hating it until 20 minutes in when Merlin gives this great speech about how Arthur is going to be the greatest king and how he has all this faith in him.

The thing about A/G is that we all know it's doomed and so I think a lot of us are rooting for A/M to be the great relationship of this show because it is really amazing.

IKR?? Most of them have sucked (I picked up the S3 one at the BFI last year but it wasn't very pretty. And there was no BFI event listed in my Sept/Oct magazine :( )

But this one is AWESOME. Plus, old!Merlin? I liked old!Merlin, he was adorable so I'm looking forward to that again. *g*

I have a series 2 one I think? The one with 'You Can't Escape Destiny' along the top and Merlin and Arthur on it.

I don't mind old!merlin (although I haven't seen that episode) but I hope they won't weasel out of a magic reveal that way!

I had an S2 one somewhere but I think it got squashed and I binned it. But the S4 one is hot and I want a copy (particularly as good Merlin merch is hard to come by).

Old!Merlin is awesome (IMO). I've become resigned to never getting a magic reveal. It's less depressing to not expect one! Plus, it'll never be as good as fandom managed.

Fandom really do do it best :D That's why I always get twitchy when the cast and producers are a bit condescending about fanfic, there is some amazing stuff out there! Far better than we get on the show sometimes :)

I am one of those who really likes to keep fanfic and the actors separate but there is! And even the gen stuff though I do understand why the cast get a little twitchy about the porn, and particularly the RPF (I'd be a little traumatised if I'd found fic about me!)

I definitely don't expect them to read it, but it would be nice sometimes if they didn't always talk about fandom like we were all borderline psychos and massive creepsters. It takes some of the enjoyment out of it for me :( Especially when they are all EWWWWW GAY STUFF? NEVER!
