Just got back from seeing Harry Potter. Really loved it (and I cried a lot).

Also, when it flashed up '19 Years Later', my brain immediately went to OH MY GOD, PLEASE LET THERE BE HOVER CARS! Yes, I know the Battle of Hogwarts is supposed to take place in 1998, but the films don't seem to be set in the 90s (seriously, no Ace of Base and floppy velvet hats? I rest my case) so I think they missed an awesome opportunity to show us London in twenty years time. I'm thinking hover cars, silver piping and shoulder pads on every outfit. STEPHEN FRY FOR PRESIDENT. All that stuff they promised us on Tomorrow's World and failed to deliver.

OH MY GOD, PLEASE LET THERE BE HOVER CARS! :D

That would have been a marvelous representation.

It would have been amazing. If the future does not feature hover cars, I want a refund.

Hmm...I could have done without the epilogue in the book, and I thought that was the general consensus? Oh well. I guess I will have to give them points for staying faithful to the book.

I didn't think anything in the movies or books screamed 90's, but my mind automatically goes to the scenes in which they show the Dursley's car. I wonder if it was a 90's model or they didn't bother with that detail?

I liked the epilogue, although I know that isn't the general consensus. I do get why a lot of people didn't like it though, it was a little cheesy in pairing everyone up I guess and if you didn't ship canon couples it was extra crappy all round. If they stuck an epilogue on the end of Merlin showing Arthur and Gwen's 20th wedding anniversary and Merlin still pining for Freya's ghost, I would absolutely be queueing up to kick Johnny Capps in the nuts ;)

There were no hover cars? DAMN.

Glad you enjoyed it.

The tissues came in handy then?

That would've been awesome if there had been hover cars. The epilogue in the book would have been much better for it if there was a mention of them. :p They could have taken artistic license in the film though and added hover cars, yes. ;)

I enjoyed the movie too. :) So sad that it was the final film though. :*(

They could totally have added some hover cars! They've taken artistic license with other stuff, what's wrong with a few hover cars ::sulks::

It was a great film, I'm looking forward to seeing it again on Tuesday!

Agree, although I HATE and REFUSE TO READ the epilogue but didn't mind it nearly as much in the film. I still find the Albus Severus name ridiculous though. I rolled my eyes.

Albus is a bit of an embarrassing name on its own. Like calling your child 'Alfred' or something equally old fashioned. I quite like the epilogue, but then I do love cheesy happy endings all round :D
