Random post that got a bit loooong.

Ugh. What a long day at work! It wasn't even technically a long shift or anything, just boiling hot and then I had to go to the bank afterwards and traipsed all through town in the heat, only to realise I'd left my wallet in the car. I was not a happy bunny! I went back and got it though, and then I bought myself a strawberry tart and ate it all and didn't even care about my healthy eating plans.

ANYWAY, on to more interesting stuff :) I hope everyone has had a good week! I've mostly been working, doing thesis corrections and trying to catch up with my flist. I know I am way behind :(

First of all, I'm sure everyone has seen it by now but WHAT IS THIS PICTURE?!?! I mean, seriously! It's almost uncanny and I will certainly be using it for modern AU inspiration, I am very glad frantic_allonsy tweeted it ;)



I have also been distracted by all the amazing kmm updates. The other morning I woke up to 48 emails on my phone, including updates for four different fics I am tracking. I don't think wake ups get much better than that :D What is everyone reading?? For Merlin, I am reading,

Glow (with hilarious drunk and naked Merlin)

The Future Soon (Merlin and Arthur see a future vision of themselves married and are HORRIFIED. This one is so funny and charming)

Why Princesses should not have Manservants (Merlin accidentally gets his Princess pregnant. Shenanigans ensue)

The Weight of the Crown (Arthur has to marry someone magical, girl!merlin comes to court...)

I have also been reading some Marcus/Esca for The Eagle fandom! One of my favourites has been finished this week, A Wolf in Wolf's Clothing, which is a modern AU where Esca wears a kilt and his boyfriend Marcus is very happy about it. I'm also reading THIS amazing fic where Esca is Marcus's best friend's little brother (a very similar prompt to the M/A fic, 'Where you end and I begin, the sky is falling in' actually), and Never Return to the Scene of the Crime with cat burglar Esca and laid back Marcus.

Speaking of adorable Jamie Bell, I saw this on youtube recently and thought it was brilliant! It's a scene of Naomi Watts and Jamie Bell performing a dance in the film King Kong. The music is so catchy and the dance is fantastic I thought :D

And I loved the atmosphere of this one! Though it has MAJOR SPOILERS for Jane Eyre (don't look at it jamie15!!! THOUGH MAYBE WHEN YOU FINISH.) It's very intense and well edited.

Lastly lastly, I just bought the Empire magazine Harry Potter special and the pictures are wonderful! I especially like,

ALMOST FORGOT. I am going to London tomorrow to see Catherine Tate and David Tennant in Much Ado about Nothing! How could I forget to mention that? It's my birthday present, from back in January. Then on Tuesday I am going to see 'Island' in Cardiff. I can't wait to see it!

I AGREE WITH YOUR SCENARIO. It had been a long day's filming, and they just needed a bit of quiet time and maybe one of them snuck off and the other one waited a bit (so it wouldn't look suspicious) and then followed them :D :D If only Katie/Angel/Random-knightly-dude hadn't been taking a short cut to the catering truck RIGHT AT THAT MOMENT...

Ooooh I bet Tamsin Grieg was amazing as Beatrice! Beatrice is my favourite Shakespeare character. We did 'Much Ado' at A-Level and I was so shocked at how modern she sounded, it was really love at first read for me :D

Wolf in Wolf's Clothing was amazing. I would love to read other stories in that verse. I haven't seen many modern established relationship Marcus/Esca fics yet and that one had so many little tantalising hints of their life together and their relationship history. I needed more!

Aw, screw healthy eating! I think I had a whole bar of Milka chocolate yesterday, in spite of my own plans! It must be the withdrawal :D!

I love the dancing and the music! Now, if only I didn't have two left feet I'd try and copy them ... They seem like they had a lot fun filming that though! :D

And OMG you're going to have such a brilliant time tomorrow! I've read such brilliant stuff about that play in the guardian - and also, the chance to see David Tennant and Catherine Tate live ... O.o! Have fun!

Mmmmmm milka - I love that stuff!

I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE IT IS FROM. But it looks scarily like them!! I couldn't stop staring at it for ages.

The dancing was great, it was nice to see that Jamie Bell hasn't lost all his awesome dancing ability. Plus he looks completely gorgeous there, all laughing and doing his moves <3 <3

I haven't read any reviews of the play yet, they've all been positive then?? YAY. I just hope tomorrow isn't understudy night or something :/

That's the review I read in the guardian yesterday :)! They have been quite positive yes, so you're definitely in for something good! (It is my favourite Shakespeare play though, so I may be a bit biased :D!)

WHOA! That really, really looks like them. The hair, the jaw, the body mass...it's uncanny!

However part of me also suspects this is just a really, nicely done bit of photoshop. Something about the heads seem a bit off to me.

...Or perhaps it's a couple of guys who are doing a stellar cosplay job of Morgan/James although I am more inclined toward the former idea.

Either way, it's wonderful sight for these tired fangirl eyes!!

Do you reckon?? Even if it is though, they still found two perfect heads, body types and even clothing to match them so I'm certainly not complaining :D :D Even Colin's sideburns are present and correct. I'm hoping it will inspire lots of modern AUs!

I got that copy of Empire the other day and its got some great articles in it this month. The Harry Potter special is excellent except for a very BIG error as far as I'm concerned...

NO SNAPE how could they have missed someone so pivotal to the final part of the story. I was so gutted when I realised that I actually threw it away from me in disgust. I have of course reclaimed it straight away but still surprised that they haven't included him.

Yeah I agree I was thinking how grown up and lovely Tom looked in that pic. Its so odd to see them as adults. Look forward to seeing their careers blossom.

I did think the absence of Snape was odd! But I assume there was some reason he couldn't do it, given they had all the other main characters and put that whole quote from him on the back. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen any HP related photoshoots with Alan Rickman? :/

You mean you are always gone from LJ for days in a row? I'm usually glued to the computer (with the exception of my trip to Italy). Being a stay at home mom, I have plenty of opportunities to check on the interwebz on a normal day, but yesterday and today had me out of the house most of the day.

I know! I love the shaggy hair Colin. I notice that S1 had longer hair than S3. S2 even had some longer hair (nothing like he seems to prefer, but still...)

Felton does look so different with his normal hair color. He was in a movie (The Littles maybe?) when he was younger and he looks completely unrecognizable in that movie. Draco is a cool look, but of course, we also associate that look with an evil git, so I hope that we can see Felton go on to do something different now:D

I have my phone though which allows me to get emails and keep up with any major developments ;) If anything REALLY HUGE ever happened, I would hope someone would PM me the news O_O Something like Capps announcing there would be a magic reveal.

Have you seen Tom Felton in Anna and the King?? He doesn't look hugely different to Philosopher's Stone there but it's so odd to see him being so sweet and nice!

I have a stupid phone (as opposed to a smart phone). No emails while I'm out and about and I'm totally happy about that.

I love Anna and the King! It is one of my favourite films and I have the soundtrack :D I never really liked The King and I the musical, so I definitely prefer the serious version.

I got my smartphone especially so I could message my friend Ven easier, and then so I could keep up with fandom things. I could text all my friends in this country, but Ven is in the States so now I can use email in the same way I would a text message, it's brilliant! I also hated missing stuff and not being able to read comments to entries, so that's cool too (and I get kmm updates emailed to me, so often I wake up in the morning and the first thing I do is lie there reading updates on my phone!).

I wish they didn't cut his hair so short for Merlin. I've noticed that in fic, he almost always has his longer, shaggier hair do ;) The fans know what they want!

Ok. I'll have to see if I can get my hands on it. Maybe my kids will like it. I loved the musical version. I swear I saw Yule Brenner live in it, although I was like 10, so my memory could be faulty on this matter.

I can totally understand why people have smartphones and why they love them. I am completely addicted to the internet and mostly at home, so the only time I can get away from it, is to leave the house. And my feeling is that if I'm not at home, I don't want to be reachable (although now that I have kids, I do have the cell phone and select people have that number).

I got a laptop six months ago and that lives in my bedside table for the most part, so I get to check email etc first thing after I wake up and I love that. I used to have to actually get out of bed to do it. (The habit hasn't changed; just the location).

So many fans love the longer hair on CM; I don't understand why they want to cut it so short. I even like the slightly longer hair on Bradley too. I love when he's riding and his hair is blowing around (as in the scene from The Labryinth of Gedref).

(I love that other people are as geeky about Merlin as me:D Thanks for letting ramble and get completely off topic!) I'm sure you're headed to bed soon, so sleep well!
