They are making a sequel to Mysterious Cities of Gold!!!! For those not privileged to grow up with awesome 1980s cartoons (there may or may not be a teeny bit of sarcasm there), MCOG actually WAS an awesome cartoon. One of those cartoons you watch later and realise were actually good, like with proper storylines and characterisation and no crappy romance crowbarred in later. It was set in the sixteenth century and taught you all about Inca and Mayan civilisations as Esteban, Zia and Tao searched for the legendary Cities of Gold. THERE IS NO DOWN SIDE TO THIS NEWS.

Here's the link my brother just sent me, it looks like the original artwork and everything! ::excited::

THEY HAD BETTER KEEP THE THEME TUNE.

In other news, is it weird to post more fic when I am not caught up on previous fic comments? I have just found my sequel to a random Christmassy fic with famous actor Merlin who likes Quality Street green triangles and his very chilly boyfriend Arthur. But I have about FOUR FICS I have not replied to comments for yet. I am so hopeless :/

THERE'S A WORLD TO BE WON, WITH ADVENTURE AND FUN.

...sorry. I couldn't resist :) More Vicky the Viking would be brilliant!

Noooooooooo!

But they have to keep it! It's so iconic! If they don't I'm going to play my own recording over the intro. For all the years between it going off air and the internet appearing, the theme tune was the only thing I could remember as proof the show had existed. No-one else ever remembered it.

Thought you'd appreciate this one! Shame Studio Pierrot doesn't seem to be involved, but the French are no slouches when it comes to animation, i just hope it lives up to the old series. There's a Japanese animated Thundercats series on the way as well - it's like the 80's have come back!

::resists urge to make Thatcher/Cameron comparisons::

I hope they carry right on from the end of the last series and don't retcon stuff!

I remember reading an interview with the series creator Jean Chalopin where he said he intended to do a follow up shortly after the originl series, but his studio got into difficulties and it got shelved. He's been pushing to get it made for ages but couldn't get funding, so I just hope he's going to carry on with his original concept and hasn't had to make too many concessions in order to get it going.

Oh, that sounds really cool! :) I am actually quite embarrassed by my non-knowledge of Inca and Mayan culture, so it really might do me some good to watch this :D! And I just love stories, that can offer you more and more as you get older - it's what I especially love about books like Harry Potter :)!

Aw, I don't think it's too weird - I actually think it's awesome that you still plan on replying to the comments and don't just cover your face and inch away embarrassedly ... which is probably what I would do :D!

You already know my thoughts on the return of Mysterious Cities of Gold.

*sings* One day we will find the Cities of gold...

My childhood crush returns. I aslo would really like Mendoza to crop up just because he was such an interesting character. He had layers.

And no I don't think posting more fic when you have outstanding comments is a bad thing. But then I really love your fic and would love mroe now so...I am not the most objective person here.

As long as you keep writing, I don't care if you don't comment back!

It's always nice to get a comment back, of course. But between a comment and some new fiction from you? The fiction. Absolutely.
