I saw Tangled!! And I loved it :D :D Except for some annoying noisy teenagers at the back of the cinema. I thought it was funny and charming and the little chameleon was brilliant (especially when he blew a raspberry). I actually cried at the lantern scene and I've since downloaded the song too (I am a sucker for Disney).

I also loved the trailer for the new Winnie the Pooh film that was on before it. It's a return to the early style of animation complete with the narrator and his book and the cast interacting with them! And even better, Christopher Robin has a British accent again :) I adored Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day when I was little so I was beaming like an idiot through this trailer and was left feeling so nostalgic for how possible this all seemed back then, finding the Hundred Acre Wood or the Magic Faraway Tree or a secret garden, or going through the wardrobe into another world (believe me I tried, mum and dad's wardrobe had a distressingly solid back panel). I think the choice of song really helped with the nostalgia. For children, that imaginative secret world always feels like somewhere only they know :D

ETA: The trailer won't show up properly as an embedded youtube vid on my flist view, but it does in my 'recent entries.' Not sure why! But it is there :)

Aww, that trailer! ♥ It looks like it'll be such a cute movie. I love Winnie the Pooh and I'm so glad they're doing a new film for it. :D I haven't seen Tangled yet -- I'm a bit curious to see it though since I've heard good things about the movie. My friend went to see it and she thought it was all right. :)

I've had the love song from the film on repeat ever since I saw it! ::is a sap:: I wouldn't say it's ever going to be up there with Beauty and the Beast or Little Mermaid, but it was definitely enjoyable and beautifully animated :)

I cannot wait to see more Winnie the Pooh! I just need to borrow my godchildren so I won't look weird going by myself ;)

That trailer is AMAZING. I can't believe there's going to be a new film, blimey, I remember watching The Tigger Movie! Is it a little weird that I got a bit teary watching that? It's just so wonderfully lovely and nostalgic. I also laughed like crazy, poor Eeyore. Why does my chocolate addiction not lead me to such comparably fabulous realms as Pooh's land of honey?!

I loved the Magic Faraway Tree! I am sure I've said it before, but damnit I wanted to go there. Alas, no giant tree near me had any mystical clouds at the top. I still glance hopefully around in forests tho :D :D

Also, also, I love your mini Merlin adventures! I have not said, but they make me laugh like crazy. Oh Arthur, falling over in dismay :D :D misses Bradley!adorkableness* :)

It's not weird at all! I got very teary too. The scene that hit me hardest was as the song kicked in and you just saw the whole gang following the red balloon over the hill. Gah! That bit just got me and made me feel so emotional and nostalgic for my childhood and the belief that enchanted woods full of adventure were real and if I just looked hard enough I could find them.

Ditto for the Faraway Tree! I would be so adept at avoiding Dame Washalot AND Mister Whatzisname, and after I'd gone up the ladder and had an adventure (I'm hoping for the Land of Birthdays) I would call in on Silky the Fairy and visit Moonface and go the rest of the way on the Slippery Slip. And of course I would be home in time for tea, because no children's adventure finished without getting safely home :) Sounds like a perfect day out to me!

POOH MOVIE!!! *tears of joy*
I loved ( LOVED LOVED LOVED) winnie the pooh as a kid. I named my cat tigger, had a pooh beadspread, had and still have all of the classic pooh character stuffed animals, have the classic animation movies, have the books, wrote a paper on philosophy within AA Milne's work in undergrad....ok you get it.

I will now sing the hephelumps and woozles song all day....

I share your tears of joy!!! Who doesn't love Winnie the Pooh?? I remember I had the original Pooh song on tape and I loved listening to it :D And me and my brother had several of the books too.

HEPHELUMPS AND WOOZLES! Awww when they're seeing all the strange coloured elephants. It was all like a crazy dream! I remember that well :D :D

I am also most intrigued by your philosophy paper on A.A Milne!

Looks great. I'm not that fond of Pooh only because with 2 kids, I had to watch it endlessly and I got pretty sick of it after years of watching. I did have a good way of waking them up when I'd sing the 'Winnie the Pooh' song. Worked every time.

My mum felt similarly about a My Little Pony video that I had and played CONSTANTLY (or so she claims). Even I can't watch it now without much grinding of teeth, so she's probably right :D

My kids also adored 'The Last Unicorn'. I grew to hate that one.

Oh dear, I recently bought that for my cousin's little girl! I hope her mother doesn't come to hate me...
