More Things I Have Been Doing.

magog_83Just checking in to say hello and that I am a big fat FAIL for not posting anything properly this week. Mini Merlin and Arthur HAVE STUFF TO SAY DAMMIT. No really, they do! They want to reply to ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)

What I have to put up with.
However I am currently finishing off a Fic O’Doom (somehow they all end up becoming Fics of Doom) and although it is going fine it is just taking forever and apparently my brain cannot do Fandom Multitasking. Which is frustrating to say the least.
As soon as this sequel is done I can start PROPERLY planning my Glomp Fest fic, AND do more Mini Thems. I also have School Nemeses 7 and a short sequel to The Unexpected Present aka The Fic Which No-One Will Remember From the Title (the Christmas fic with famous!merlin, green chocolate triangles and Muppet’s Christmas Carol) in beta and so hopefully soon ready to post. I have no idea why Green Chocolate Triangle Fic merited any kind of sequel, short or otherwise, but I was suddenly inspired one evening to explore Arthur’s insecurities some more and have Merlin make them all better ;)
Things that have amused and/or interested me today...
PAPER LEGENDS is live and people are signing up for it! How I wish I could actually write long fics and meet deadlines without melting my brain and turning into a big ball of stress. Needless to say I have not signed up :( But I can’t wait to read all the finished products. Well, the M/A ones anyway, since that's pretty much all I read!
EMAIL NOSTALGIA. I was searching my email for something today and came across a hilarious snippet byvensre from back in July, apparently during a conversation about Sir Percy in a modern AU (from my The Route to Advancement series for anyone who is thinking of the tall, muscley guy in series 3). I’m sure Ven won’t mind me sharing it, since it made me laugh so much.
Ven: I've just had a great idea. Modern AU Percy. XD
Me: oh my god! can you imagine?? but... but... BRUTUS
Ven: If I was translating into my own context, Brutus would probably be a recalcitrant computer. :3
Percy: [clutching his head] Oh god. Print! Please, print!
Brutus the computer: [hourglass]
Five minutes later...
Brutus the computer: [unexpected screensaver]
Percy: But my boss is expecting it in five minutes! [hits keys]
Brutus the computer: [activates paperclip]

Finally, a random fact I learned the other day. Jennifer Ehle, aka Lizzie Bennet from the 1995 BBC Pride and Prejudice, is the daughter of Rosemary Harris, aka Aunt May from the Spiderman films. I DID NOT KNOW THIS. It’s like two film worlds that could not be more far apart have suddenly collided.
And while I am sounding like a Celebrity Trivia Machine, I read today that Georgia Moffat (Lady Vivian from Merlin series 2, and the Doctor's Daughter from Doctor Who, series 4) is expecting a baby with David Tennant! And they’re getting married apparently (which is old news but I still missed it). That child had better be a Doctor Who fan, what with the Tenth Doctor for a father and the Fifth Doctor for a granddad!
And now I am definitely out of trivia and ramblings. How is everyone's week going?? And has anyone seen Tangled? I'm going to see it tomorrow with my cousin and her little girl.

I am very fond of that one but I don't know if I could ever expand it, there have been so many good student/teacher ones since! But I'm really chuffed you remember it :D :D
And thank you so much for your lovely comment about School Nemeses! I try to make each part self contained in some ways, to get around the danger of WIP cliffhangers that don't get resolved for ages!

I am bashing away at the fic, it's up to 11k now which is sort of ridiculous for a one shot fic (for me, that is). Now I just need an actual ending and I am THERE. :D

I was kind of surprised when I first heard they were going out. I think I didn't quite believe it until I saw the set pics from Georgia Moffat's Merlin episode and David Tennant had come out to see her (I like to imagine a manly hug between him and Colin too, not to mention Tony Head AND Angel who he also worked with in DW). DT is definitely still my favourite Doctor, alongside Tom Baker of course, but I'm becoming very fond of Matt Smith. I loved the Christmas episode so much!
School Nemeses will be along don't worry, it just has to have all it's dodgy spelling and grammar edited out!
