The End of Merlin :(

So, we all heard the news today that Merlin has been cancelled. Although we all saw it coming, it was still weird to have it confirmed and I was so busy discussing it on twitter and reading people's posts that it only just occurred to me that there were a few others I should probably mention it to. I wasn't looking forward to it, especially when I found Mini Arthur happily dictating his Christmas cards.



It had to be done though, so I decided to just get on with it and tell them that Merlin had been AXED.



To be fair, I was probably a bit unclear. I quickly explained that it had just been cancelled.

They didn't take it well.



Also, Arthur might die in the finale.





At least with that I thought the worst was definitely over, so it was something of a shock to find them drunk googling for a new home not ten minutes later.



There had evidently been a MASSIVE misunderstanding and I hastened to explain that I was definitely 100% not throwing them out, no matter what happened to the show.

I think it cheered them up. Mini Arthur might even have had something in his eye (probably whisky fumes).



After that slightly emotional interlude, I felt that a present was the least I could do, so they had a surprise waiting for them when they got back to the bookcase. I thought it was something we could all share, in this nearly-festive season, as a mark of lasting friendship.



Or not. Whatever.

The minis just make everything better. Shame, really, that this season wasn't them instead of the real thing. I think I'll miss them more than the show. Maybe they can do their own Season 6?

Regardless - they have often been the highlight of my Merlin experience, and I thank you, and them, for some super laughs, and even the odd tear.

Awwww. Adorable. I've missed your mini adventures. I'm still upset about the whole thing, despite knowing it was going to happen.

I also realised that I meant to send you a link a while ago and never did. Your mini's inspired me to create my own stories with Merlin and Arthur. It started as a fun thing I'd post on my own facebook when I went on trips and took them with me and then it got a bit popular and my friends requested that I give them their own page. I hope you don't mind. Awww they're the cutest. I love how the dragon is covering his eyes with his wings when you told them.

The news about the cancellation made me feel nostalgic. And a bit guilty cos I'm not caught up on series 5. I logged a lot of firsts with Merlin: my first fandom, my first slash ship, my first (and only!) rps ship. Actually, Merlin is the only fandom that I actively participated in. Plus I met a lot of awesome people online cos of Merlin. *glomps you* Also, COLIN MORGAN!
