HOLY CRAPSTACKS PEOPLE. HOLD THE PHONE.

THERE ARE TWO MORE BOOKS IN THE 'WHAT KATY DID' SERIES BY SUSAN COOLIDGE.

WHAT.

WHAT.

AND THEY'RE FREE ON AMAZON KINDLE-FOR-PC?

This is like that dream where I found 12 new 'Jill' books by Ruby Ferguson, and she went on to have an eventing career and worked for Captain Cholly-Sawcutt at his stables and DIDN'T become a short-hand typist.

Oh god - do you think Rose-Red will be in them? Will Katy marry Ned Worthington? If Cousin Helen dies I'm going to be mad >:( Why have these been out of print for so long that I never heard of them???!

::falls over::

Did you ever read the series? They're about an American girl in the nineteenth century and all her adventures!

Never heard of it! I just googled it and I don't think it was ever published in Germany :/ Sounds interesting though and if it's free for kindle... ! :)

Be warned that it is rather 'of its time', so Cousin Helen is always teaching everyone lessons in patience because of Jesus and stuff. And I suppose by cynical fanfic standards, Katy is a bit of a Mary Sue after her accident - but the Katy books, along with the Anne of Green Gables and Little Women series, Little Princess and a metric ton of pony adventure books and school stories made up my childhood (and I still have them all on my bookcase) :D

Pony books were the best.

What ones did you read? All of mine were very old-school English settings, were their similar popular German series??

It was called 'Pony Club' I believe. And then there is this very popular series in Germany called 'Bibi und Tina' which is about a witch who is BFFs with this girl whose family owns a horse ranch and they go and have awesome adventures :D

I did not know this either. Looked them up and apparently they're more about Katy's brothers and sisters. I'd be interested to hear what they're like.

(Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one who dreams about sequels to my favourite books. )

I saw that Katy gets married in the last one (although I didn't read more of the review so as not to spoil myself). I have them both downloaded from amazon now and cannot WAIT to read them!

I haven't read the series, but I also once had a dream that I was at the library and discovered books #17 and #22 of The Chronicles of Narnia (and the ones in between presumably existed, but they weren't on the library shelf at the time - someone borrowed the rest, of course! *g*). I was ecstatic and was so disappointed to wake up. :D

*hugs for books*
