Can we please stop and appreciate this adorableness for a moment? It's Tom Hiddleston, aka Loki, at the Avengers premiere. I keep clicking back to this and feeling charmed all over again.



In not so nice news, NOOOO MEAT FEAST WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DIE? (to people who don't know, it's a Merlin/Arthur fic the author has suddenly taken down). My only consolation is that I happened to have already saved a PDF copy to my hard drive. Clearly I channelled some Morgana and prepared myself for this eventuality.

In yet more news, I have discovered Loki/Thor fic. Don't care if you think it's wrong (O Person judging me on Tumblr), they're fictional and hit most of my kinks. Any recs are most welcome :D I also went to see Avengers the other night and shocked my mum by blatantly fangirling Loki THE ENTIRE TIME.

I know nothing about the Avengers. I think I'm still waaaaay too taken with Merlin for anything else to have room in brain at the moment though.

Um, you might not want to advertise that you have a copy of The Meat Feast? Not sure how that works. I only found out that it was taken down because of a comment on KMM by one of the mods who said the author wanted all copies erased from existence (which is a little bizarre to me, but hey, everyone is not me).

It's ok, I had the copy of it already! I was tracking it on kmm too and got the message this morning - then I raced to my laptop to check I actually had it :) I don't think the author wants all copies erased, they just don't want it shared (not that that won't happen, it will just more likely happen 'offline' via email, as it usually does). It's always such a shame when fics get taken down, it feels like someone went to my bookcase and took one of my favourite novels :(

My fannish brain is expanding to things other than Merlin these past few months, which is nice after 3 and a half years of it! I have discovered Eagle, Thor, X Men and Star Trek fic :D

Ok, excellent then! Carry on. It's especially puzzling in this case as there is no way to know who this person is. lolafeist wondered if she was going to try to retool it as original fic, although the tropes seem highly fanfic-ish to me and not at all mainstream.

I am all "OMG Loki/Thor!!!" right now. *clutches* I love it even more than I did after watching Thor; it's not fair, haha. I assume you've read all of astolat's fics? Otherwise I have no recs. For some reason, my mind is very particular about characterisation with this pairing and aargh, why self, I just want to enjoy all the fics. ;_; *weak flailing*

I also spent the entire movie going "Lokiiii" while the two people I was with were fangirling Steve/Tony, haha.

I have of course read Astolat's fic. I only finished the dinosaur one this morning and I loved them all so much <3 How does she just keep writing classics?!?!

I am the same with characterisation. It's what has stopped me just reading ALL the Star Trek fics especially. I have such a specific reboot Spock/Kirk in mind and have to back click from deviations from it.

My poor mum kept going "But he's evil!" and I was all HE;S JUST MISUNDERSTOOD OKAY. HE JUST NEEDS THOR TO HUG HIM OR SOMETHING ::muttermuttermutter::

Oh woooooow. THANK YOU. So far I have only clicked on Dinerverse and I can already see it is right up my street :D :D

I've finished all of Astolat's fic this morning, the first thing I do in new fandoms is look for the Merlin authors I know (like Seperis's amazing Star Trek fics).

I've only watched Thor once, but somehow the more clips of Tom Hiddleston I saw on Tumblr, the more I found myself remembering bits of Thor and then I bought tickets for Avengers and that was pretty much it XD

LOL, I think it was the promise of Astolat's Loki/Thor stories that lured me into watching Thor in the first place: I needed to get familiar with the canon to appreciate her fics in full.

Pity that this fandom is not as prolific as it should be... But perhaps Avengers will inspire more authors.

I'm also tentatively looking into Loki/Tony, btw. Generally I'm an OTP kind of girl but something about Loki makes me more flexible, I suppose. So here's a rec (still a WiP, alas) if you ever feel in the mood for this pairing: http://archiveofourown.org/works/315889

But yes, Tom Hiddleston is the most adorable thing I have ever seen and I don't know whether I want to hug him And give him all the pudding he wants or kiss him.

And then Loki. Loki Loki Loki. I just want to sit him down and give him the BIGGEST hug. And just say to him that it's okay, you're not a monster which is what Odin seems to have forgotten to do. 'You were both born to be kings but Thor is THE GOLDEN ONE WHO WILL BE MY SUCCESSOR no Loki you don't get anything. Oh you get to be made fun of and I will do nothing to rectify it.' Yeah. Well done, Allfather. I really want to sit Kenneth Brannagh and Tom Hiddleston down and ask them about the choices in Thor - did they mean to make him so sympathetic? Was that a director's choice or was it Tom's choice? Which one of them planned this so I can pin the blame?

I still don't know if I want Thor/Loki fic or Thor+Loki fic...? I GUESS I SHALL JUST HAVE TO RESEARCH AND READ LOTS.

I've discovered that I can apparently hide my fangirling quite well. No flailing (apart from one sad moment.... ;_;). Just sat there with my arms folded and gripping my upper arms. And grinning like a loon when Loki pitched up.
