Stuff and Nonsense

So it turns out it will be another two weeks before I have proper internet. This sucks massively. It sucks like a 6th series of Merlin subtitled 'Arthur and Gwen: The Golden Years' and filmed entirely in soft focus with bonus violins.

I miss my internet so much. I feel so out of fandom and I can't post on my history comm properly and it's going to make keeping up with my distance learning archive course really bloody difficult. Dad got me a dongle for that, pay as you go, but it doesn't let me open LJ sites without contacting the service provider to take off the restrictions and it's for my course anyway so I can't use it for LJ instead :( Not to mention I'm meant to have broadband for this course. Oops.

In nicer news, I realised just now it's been exactly 3 years and 4 days since I posted my first ever contribution to Merlin fandom (my Accidentally in Love fanvid) on January 11th 2009, 2 days before my 26th birthday when I was in the midst of my postgrad studies. How time flies! Little did I know all the stories I would write and the cool people I would meet back then <3

Gah! I have so much to talk about when I can write proper entries again, not to mention a zillion people to reply to and entries to comment on properly!

It think I love you a little... [I am not anti-Gwen, but I do wish they let her keep her stronger personality from season one and did not feel the need to make her so wishy-washy to be worthy of Arthur's love.]

I think most people who don't like A/G feel the same. It's very hard to hate on Gwen, nowadays she's gone so 2D there's not much to dislike, but when I remember how brilliant she was in series one, I feel sad for what's happened since. Back then I happily wrote fics about her, now the inspiration has mostly gone. DAMMIT SHOW.

That's so terrible; is there anyplace you can go near your house that has broadband so you can keep up better with your class? (No need to reply, just brainstorming.) Anyway, I hope the next two weeks go by quickly. :(

It must be awful not having good internet access. I'm old enough that I remember well when there was no such thing as the internet. In fact, I remember a time when there weren't even desktop computers! Yes, it's true, I'm ancient. I remember when Queen Victoria...

Anyway, the real reason I'm writing is to wish you a happy (almost, sort of) anniversary. Count me as very happy you started posting just over 3 years ago. I've loved virtually every story you've ever written, as well as the wonderful, funny, adorable, mischievous Mini Them's.

Here's hoping you get real internet service ASAP. Jim

I just about remember the world before internet. We used to have these old BBC computers at school and only the teacher could use them, we just gathered round and watched the magic happening :D

And thank you <3 I've enjoyed posting, it's given me something to enjoy in some very stressful times and I've always appreciated all your comments (as have the Mini Thems of course).
